Something Fishy…
10 Jul 2011 2 Comments
In my last post, people have been talking about me not sleeping in my own bed, but I do! I swear!
My human even got me a comfy new pillow to sit on my bed!
You remember last week we got a fish tank right?
Well today we went on another adventure to the pet store! But not before I was offered a walk by my new flatmate Tracey! She was so nice of her to offer, and I was on my bestest behaviour.
So anyway, I packed myself in the car all ready to be spoilt at the store.
My human and her flatmate went and stood by the fishy area again for aaaages looking at all the fishes.
A lady came along and scooped up some water and put it in a bag, and handed it to my flatmate, then i got to go to the treat department!
I picked out cheese flavour, chocolate flavour and vanilla flavour crunchy bones for my bed time treat, and also got a piggy foot and a raw hide chew. And of course at the check out, my human couldn’t resist buying me some pup cakes! This time she actually got to take a picture before I ate them!
Then when we got home, my human was acting very strange, she kept staring at the box of water that has been sitting on the table since last week, and put the plastic bags in the box, then a little while later, she opened the bags and put some flaky stuff in the box. And then I realised there were things in the bags!!
My human has named them after the royal family! The two crayfish are Elizabeth and Phillip, the two small minnows are Charles and Camilla and the Golden Comet is William and the Red Chilli is Kate. My human said she needs to get another fish and call it Harry.
I heard a rumour that I’ll be taking another long car ride to go see my humans friend Don on the other side of town, to drop off some cookies! That either means I’m going to the awesome park! Or the scary beach… I guess we’ll find out next week!

Lazy Sunday!!

So I have my own little bed in the corner of my humans room.
I use it I swear! Just…my human discovered my magic trick of sneakily crawling into bed when she’s a sleep. My human got up to go potty the other night, and came back to bed all zombie-like to discover…ME!
Yep. She just let me stay there too. ![]()
My human and our housemate went to the pet store yesterday! Of course I got to go along as well. And they said I get to go back next weekend too! To get things to go in this!
My human talked our housemate into getting his own pet, because his visa got extended for another 4 years! So he’s decided to get fish! My human also said we would get some mini crayfish to go in there too! Here’s our flatmate after he was so proud of setting up the fish tank by himself.
And here’s me helping out!
While we were at the pet store, all the shop people were gushing over how awesome I was and they remembered me! I got two special treats and a mini pup-cake…except I ate it before my human could take a picture. Here’s my treats she managed to get a picture of.
I even got some more toys! Except this time, instead of getting stuffies (which I love to un-stuff and make a mess everywhere) my human picked out a rubber purple rhino and a hot dog! I love my new hot dog, its my favourite toy at the moment.
They’re pretty indestructible which is good, because I can enjoy them longer, and they even make a cool noise like my stuffies do!
Hopefully next week I’ll have some more awesome stuff to show you.
An Adventure Close to Home.

This week, my human was feeling a bit sickie with a virus she caught. I told her to tell the doctor she needed some Kaspersky like her computer machine, but the doctor gave her Amoxicillin instead
.
So we went for an adventure down the road this week! I’ve been mentioning how
awesome my local park is for a while now, so I’ve decided to show you it this week! Its about 10 minutes walk from my house, and of course there’s always so much P-mail to check!
Its officially called Abbott park, but I like to call it
Tofu-and-the-old-lady’s-dogs-who-go-for-walks-at-5.30-in-the-morning park!
Usually I have to get there early if I want the park to myself, because everyone (and their dog!) are there in the afternoon and its very hard to walk when you have five doggies trying to sniff your behind at the same time!
There’s so much to do at my park, there’s a BMX hilly thing for human pups to play on, and a playground, a basket ball court, and picnic tables and a BBQ for the older humans!
But the best part of my park, is its off-leash AND there’s a doggie agility course!
My human and I went for a few rounds of play on it today! Its so much fun and helps me with my training!
My favourite part is the ramp with the tunnel underneath! I haven’t quite mastered going through the tunnel by myself yet, but I’m working on it!
My human and I usually just go around on the path in the park in the morning, and then go around the block. This is so I’ve had a bit of entertainment before my human goes to work, and don’t destroy the house or cry all day because I’m lonely. While my human was sickie this week, our flatmate (the nice one) took me for my walks in the morning.
Oh! I forgot to mention, there’s a doggie drinking fountain at the park! It gets
very hot in Australia apparently, I haven’t experienced it myself yet, but I can imagine it would be very hot because its always so sunny and dry!
Next week, if the weather is fine, my human said we can go to the beach again…except this time not just any regular beach, but the off-leash doggie beach called The Spit!
Hopefully it will be just as awesome as my park!

Retail Therapy & Overcoming my water phobia part 2!

Since today was a public holiday – Queens Birthday – (Even though the Queen’s REAL birthday is some time in April…) I had TWO whole days to spend with my human! Sunday wasn’t too exciting, I just sat on the couch and watched my human do this thing called ‘housework’. But today was fantastic! We went to a special place where pups are allowed!
My human and I went on a much needed girly shopping spree! Together we picked out a giant tennis ball, some stuffies, veggie pigs ears and a neat rubber ball that has a bell in it, and of course clothes! Its very hard to find clothes in my size, since mostly little doggies wear clothes…people think big dogs should be tougher than little pups…that we should be ‘real’ dogs. I don’t believe any of this!
Us doggies are all the same! Some people are just size-ist!
The lady at the shop was very helpful! She dressed me up in all the clothes in my size, while my human stood there with her hands full of toys! All the people in the shop were gushing over how fabulous I looked in each coat!
Normally I wont wear clothes for two reasons – its supposed to be warmer here than in New Zealand, and because I have a fur coat! But recently on the Gold Coast, its been super chilly…colder than New Zealand! The news told my human its the coldest winter in 11 years.
All this week, my humans hands have swelled up and gone numb during our morning walk its so cold!
Speaking of New Zealand, my human found a kiwi shop down the road! She picked up a few things, and told me next time she would pick up some fish for me! She discovered all sorts of seafood there, from hoki, to kina and paua! But of course, my human has to be difficult and be all ‘vegan’ so she got this stuff:
Of course with so much time on our hands we couldn’t forget to go for an awesome walk, so we went back to the park, to work on my water phobia and guess what! I actually made splashes in the water today!
I also went up to my belly in the water!
It was pretty intense! I think I’m actually starting to like the water! It also helped there were little duckies egging me on to go in the lake with them.
Of course, we did go for a stroll around the park for an extra hour, where I met a young boisterous black lab named Max… I grumped at him! He was just too playful for me! I swear! My human told me off for it, and gave me a big lecture all the way home about how ‘I used to be extra playful just like him’ and blah blah blah…so I fell asleep. ![]()
People are always at the park, doing lots of different things, like BBQ’s picnics, riding bicycles, even doing photo shoots! A bunch of young fancy humans were doing some modelling, so I decided to do some of my own! I posed, and did some ‘action’ shots!
Hopefully I’ll have something just as awesome to share with you next week!

Million Paws Walk & Secret Covert Operations!

Sorry I’ve been so lazy with my blog lately, my human has been working lots and was too tired to help me update my blog! ![]()
So you remember I was going to the RSPCA Million Paws Walk right? Well…
It was the most awesome day EVER!!
There were so many friendly pups all walking together, lots of stalls selling food and clothes for us doggies, there was a vet where they gave us health check ups and I weighed myself! I’m usually very naughty when it comes to the scales, I try to jump off before the scales can give a reading. Can you blame me?! The vet said I was very good and gave me a goodie bag with lots of treats for me and some paper stuff for my human.
There was a groomer too! My human insisted I get a tattoo from the groomer. ![]()
Today me and my human went on a secret spy mission!
My Nana & Granddad asked my human to go check on their apartment place to check on the mushroom fountain in the pool. My human decided to take me along…even though I’m not supposed to be there!
Last time I was there the mushroom was all faded and yucky and didn’t look nice at all, but now its all bright and colourful! See for yourself!
As a reward for being so good and quiet on our secret mission my human took me back to Pizzey Park! (Where the Million Paws Walk was held).
My human and I spent a whole hour there wandering around and greeting the other pups at the park.
Its such a beautiful park and so quiet!
Around the lake is off-leash too, and it doesn’t have any of those silly fences to keep us pups in.
I even went in the water at the lake! My human was so proud, she didn’t even tell me to go in the water! Remember my water phobia at the beach? There were dragonflies scooting around above the water and tiny little fishes in the lake, and LOTS of duckies!!!
Stay tuned for my next adventures!!

Beach Day!
14 May 2011 3 Comments
Sorry we haven’t updated in a while, our internet doppleganger-thinga-majig is very sensitive when it rains or is a bit stormy!
So my Nana & Granddad from New Zealand came to visit me! They even bought me a toy!
My human thought it would be fun for all of us if we went to the beach for a picnic, and a big learning experience for me. I have only ever been to the beach once in my whole life, and it was a pretty quiet beach, not a huge loud surf beach like the ones here on the Gold Coast!
So we packed my bag full of toys and poo bags and headed to Nana & Granddad’s apartment, where doggies aren’t allowed! But I was allowed to sneak in! See Nana & Granddad own the apartment and stay there sometimes, and they’re on the body corporate committee…so they’re breaking their own rules!
The manager says I’m cute anyway, so he will always let me in! Here’s a quick video of our day at the beach.
Remember my dog-flatmate Missy? Well! She has gotten us doggies of the house
in a lot of trouble! Well…not her, her human has.
My human and I discovered that she was not trained to do ANYTHING! My human tried training her to sit, but then Missy’s human would come along and say no she doesn’t want to sit because the tiles are too cold….when I was sitting on them without a problem! Her human would tell her she was a good girl when she would bite me for no apparent reason, and when she would bark at everything! Then we discovered she wasn’t house trained! And she’s older than me! My human was terrified I would learn her bad habits.
My human tried taking a polite approach to the situation by offering books on dog obedience and showing her the things she should know, but her human took no notice. So my human (who is like a dog with a bone! She couldn’t let it go! She complained to the owner of the house who told Missy’s human to either train her, or she isn’t allowed in the common areas of the house. Unfortunately she chose the lazy and irresponsible way out, and now NO doggies are allowed in the common areas! Even though I’m a good doggie who always does what I’m told! The house owner even says so! *sigh* My hu
man and the owner said hopefully she will feel the pressure and leave and then i can go back to hanging out in the lounge.
On the plus side I get to hang out in my back yard all day now! My human doesn’t want to keep me cooped up inside all day. Yay! But she does keep a close eye on me just in case i find a scary Australian beastie like a toad or snakes.
Stay tuned for another update from the RSPCA Million Paws Walk 2011!!! Its tomorrow, I’m so excited!!

New Flatmates…and a visitor!

My new flatmates my human has been telling me about have arrived!
There’s two humans, a lady and a younger boy and their pup! I have a puppy flatmate! Her name is Missy, and she’s quite short compared to me but she’s loads of fun!
She has lived in an apartment most of her life, so she was so excited to see the awesome back yard I have, and went for a roll in the dirt and ate some grass….then her human told her she needed a bath ![]()
She always wants to play with me in my dog run, but she always escapes underneath the fence! So my human has made it her mission to fix the run for her this weekend.
Much to my dismay, we have a new visitor! I haven’t seen him yet, but I’d know that smelly kitty smell anywhere! My human promised me a kitty free household after living with 8 meanie kitties who bossed me around!
He’s only little, and my human said he was super hungry and quite skinny. He’s living in the bathroom at the moment, until the vet opens on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday *yay!*) to see if he has a microchip, and if not, to put him on their lost and found database. My human also always makes up flyers to stick everywhere in case someone recognises him
Wish us luck in finding Mr Kitty’s family!

G’Day from Australia!

This last week has been super busy and exciting!! On Wednesday,I left my doggie
day-care Pets in the City for the last time, hopped on their fetch-mobile (school bus), and then went to visit my friends at Dogtainers, where they stuck me on one of those big bird flying machines!! I went on my flight to Australia!! My human picked me up from the airport, I was so excited to see her again She has made up a video of all the stuff we’ve been doing so far and some of the critters we’ve encountered in my first days here…there’s a lot!
I got in trouble for investigating a toad in the garden last night.
My human
was talking to a lady at the dog park yesterday, who told her if I lick the toad I can get very sick or even die! She told me the toads ooze icky stuff from their skin which is poisonous to almost everybody! The lady’s pup I met said she can eat toads like there’s no tomorrow and doesn’t get sick! How lucky! ![]()
Also this weekend it was Easter! The Easter bunny always comes to visit. He left two cute hard boiled eggs, a bunny toy, and a carob bilby! In Australia, Bilbies are endangered because of introduced animals like foxes, so to raise awareness of their problem, a lot of places here sell Easter Bilbies instead of bunnies!
They’re so cute don’t you think?
Here’s a picture of my Easter stuff!
And here’s my human’s yucky vegan Easter treats *bleh*
Happy Easter to All!

Hello! – I’m Tofu, the mystery mutt.
Actually, my paperwork from the SPCA in Auckland says I’m a
German Shepherd Cross, but can you see any German Shepherd
in me? (maybe a little on my tail…).
Anyway….I was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and someone found me in a park when I was just 4 weeks old in a park with my 3 sisters and we were put into foster care, to learn how to be good pups.
One day I was just chillin’ in my bed at the SPCA, when a girl came by and stood at my window. I was so excited to see her…even though I didn’t know who she was, I knew she would be an important part of my life, so I jumped up on the window in front of her and proceeded to lick the glass.
Long story short, she took me home!
(YAY! No more having to share my food!) I lived with my Human (Benji) and her parents who I call Nana & Granddad, who spoil me rotten, as all good grandparents should!
I made lots of human and pup friends in New Zealand and I even had a job! I would be given a left over pie to eat sometimes at my local convenience store when closing time.
Then one day, my human disappeared! I couldn’t find her anywhere, I spent hours by the front door, waiting to come home…but she never came.
I saw her stuck in the computer machine when Nana was around it though, and I
could hear her talking and calling me, but it was all too confusing!
Then one day, Nana and Granddad packed me up in the car, and took me to my day-care, Pets in the City where I stayed in one of their Executive apartments with my own TV and turn down service!
Rob & Carol from Pets in the City took me to where the big bird flying machines go, that my human was always talking about, and then I had to go in my crate, and on my own big bird flying machine! I was in the air for about 3 hours, and then the best thing ever
happened!! I SAW MY HUMAN! We were reunited in the land people call Australia!
This blog my human helped me create so I can share my Aussie adventures with you all, and my good friends back home. Enjoy!
